You’ll probably recognise our staff before you recognise our name. We’re the broker whose consultants you bump into at the coffee shop, whose kids go to the same schools as yours, and whose office you’ve likely driven past a hundred times. That’s exactly how we like it.

Kayser Baird has been part of this community since 1987, and in that time we’ve grown into one of South Africa’s most awarded insurance brokerages, recognised year after year as Santam’s Broker of the Year. But growth was never the goal on its own; we’ve never let the numbers get in the way of a good relationship. What we’ve really built across nearly four decades is trust: close to 12,000 clients across South Africa rely on us, from families insuring their first home to companies running multimillion-rand operations.

That’s the part people are sometimes surprised to learn. Alongside the personal lines cover we’re known for locally – home, car and contents insurance – we run a full commercial insurance division with depth and partnerships to service large, complex businesses. We work with more than 30 insurers, including Santam and Hollard, and several specialist insurers for any industry. With offices in Kloof, Durban and Cape Town, we have the reach to support a client with one site or twenty, and the claims experience to be there when it counts.

As we grow, how we work doesn’t change. When you call, you get a person, not a call centre queue: someone who knows your policy, your history, and your name. For a business, that means a broker who understands your industry well enough to structure cover that fits your business operations. For a family, it means someone you can simply pop in and see, no matter how small the question seems.
